REVIEW: Gaia “Notios” Agiorgitiko 2007
February 9th, 2009 by Jeff
Price: ~$14
Type/Region:
A red wine from the Nemea wine appellation in the Peloponnese, Greece.
Nose:
Fairly shy but picking up a little cherry, plum and vanilla.
Palate:
Full bodied with good acidity. Tons of ripe dried fruit and spice. Long meaty finish with spice and pepper.
Synopsis:
Not an ultra complicated wine but great for what it is. If you love Côtes du Rhône or Argentinian Cabernet, I think this Greek Agiorgitiko (grape variety) might be up your alley.
The Som Rating: 6/10 Scarlett Johansson Heads
