If only this show was in production... I would suggest adding wine gadgets as gifts as well, including but not limited to... various types of wine cork pullers, bottle stoppers, stemware (wine glasses), subscriptions to wine magazines, wine videos etc. These can be great stocking stuffers and are easier to mail as a gift to a friend.

Thanks for this video!

I've become increasingly interested in USA wine regions that offer unique varietal alternatives. The problem is because California, Oregon and Washington tend to dominate the market (at least here on the left coast) I'm never going to find in ANY local store ANY wine from Minnesota, the Finger lakes, Rhode Island, NY etc. or varietals other than the more popular French, Italian or German varetals.

Probably one of the more humorous episodes... but ice wine is better enjoyed next to a warm fireplace than freezing your wallet off in the snow!

I'm continuing to watch these videos and enjoying them but trying to figure out why it ended without any explanation. I wish I had heard about it when it was still in production, I think you needed to promote it more by getting involved with various social media formats to make it more well known. But, if you were to return to creating videos I think you'd suddenly find that you will have a bigger audience with the absence of Gary V and WLTV.

Cheers!

Great Episode, I've been a wine fanatic for years but I've yet to try these varietals. I'll do so ASAP and taste them along with this video.

FYI, "Fish on Fridays" was mandated as a church discipline (not church dogma) when beef was considered a luxury. So Roman Catholics would give up this luxury in memory of the day Christ died (Friday) as a form of sacrifice in commemoration of His self sacrifice. But, once beef became common and inexpensive, thus no longer a luxury, the "Fish on Fridays" no longer made any sense. This is why it is no longer required since Second Vatican Council of 1965. Now, Catholics are called to choose to give up Friday whatever may be considered a luxury to them.

BTW, once of the chief characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc is its chalky minerality that can remind you of a clam shell... which is another reason why it paris so well with fish!

I hope you guys bring this show back!

Cheers!

I'm going to watch all your videos but for now I am jumping around to see what interests me the most. FYI, the 2008 Bogle Phantom is Zinfandel 51% - Petite Sirah 47% - Mourvèdre 2%. Their library currently offers a 2000 but I don’t know if that was their first year and they don’t produce the Phantom every year. Their current library is includes 2000, 2001, and 2004.

I’ve been a big fan of their Chardonnay (at room temperature) for a long time.

I've spent this entire summer (June - September 2011) in search of QPR Pinots, can't find one I like under $30. I traveled up and down the coast visiting the wine countries of Santa Barbara (Santa Ynez, Buelton, Lompoc), the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Russian River, and Sonoma and could 't find ANYTHING under $30 that scratched that Pinot Noir itch. The best thing I found was a case sale of the 2002 David Bruce Estate Santa Cruz Mountains that is regularly $55 which I picked up for 1/2 off ($27.50).

Thanks for the show, keep it up!

I think it was Shakespeare who wrote, “To Decant, or not to Decant: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune…” The problem I have with most decanters, is that many are designed to be fancy but yet because of their design they are difficult to clean without soap (a “no, no”).
